Mexico has been eliminated from the Olympic football tournament in Rio.
The country who is currently holders of the title was eliminated at the group stage. They needed a win in the match against the Korea Republic but were beaten 1-0 instead. Although they were the better side throughout the game, they could not manage to find an opening in the Korean defence.
Korea’s victory means that they finish at the top of their group and will be facing Honduras in the quarter-final. Germany who finished second in the group will be facing Portugal at the same time.

The 27 year old Mexican player of LA Galaxy, Giovani dos Santos did not perform for his national side at the international stage in the Copa America Centenario.
The player himself stated that he chose not to participate in that tournament but he is now ready and eager to get back in the Mexican national side.

Defending Olympic champions Mexico has been drawn in the same group as Germany, Fiji, and South Korea.
The draw was held on Thursday in the mythic Maracana Stadium in Brazil.
Mexico is the defending Olympics champions after having beaten Brazil 2-1 in the 2012 final in London. They qualified for this year Olympics by winning the CONCACAF Men's Olympic Qualifying Championship. They will be accompanied by Honduras, who is the other finalist for the CONCACAF.

Barcelona might be interested in signing Mesut Ozil in the summer with the Spanish club preparing a player and money deal.
There is a special clause in Ozil contract that specifies that Real Madrid has the first refusal in case he is sold to a rival Spanish club. So as to circumvent this clause, Barcelona will try to offer players in exchange of Ozil.

The head coach of the Mexican national football team Juan Carlos Osorio does not want to see Mexican players making a move to the American League the MLS, as the Mexican manager considers that league to be a place where performers go to retire and it’s not as competitive compared to others.
"I believe that when a footballer is in his peak he should play in Europe and not MLS. MLS is for the end of a career and not for when a footballer still has a lot to give." Mexico’s Juan Osorio said.

The organization of World Cup 2014 in Brazil saw a number of foreign people coming to the country and while, most of them made their way just to support their favourite players; they explored the countryside as well and visited the famous places.
The maximum number of people came from Argentina which was obvious as it’s in the neighbourhood, but, if you see the number of people travelling in from the other countries which are not situated nearby Brazil, the countries from Europe, that number is quite high too.

Edinson Cavani has opened the door towards a potential return to Napoli by admitting that the Italian club has a special place in his heart and that he could return one day.
Cavani moved from Napoli in a £ 55 million deal and became one of the world’s most expensive players. However, his time at PSG has not been a happy place from the start.
